Excellence in Sustainability
What has your retail done to ensure it will have safe, sustainable and viable operations far into the future? How have you guided operations according to pillars of sustainability such as fiscal responsibility, environmental sustainability, community investment, employee engagement and co-operative leadership?

2018 Small Business Leadership Award
With retail facilities in 8 communities in northeast Alberta, recycled over 300 tonnes of cardboard and paper in 2017, and are also diverting shrink wrap, oily rags, oil and windshield washer jugs. They also donated 24,000 kg of produce and bakery products to Second Harvest.

During a major renovation, Cornerstone was able to re-purpose items like used shelving and refrigeration equipment to organizations in need, like a food bank and animal shelter. This renovation also incorporated extensive energy savings features.

Cornerstone's Bag for Breakfast program that reduced over a million grocery bags and provided over $70,000 to the School Division’s Breakfast Program over the last three years.
